when your downtown. This a nice feather to add to your hat. a cool place with lots of trendy action. Its got the nice looking bar with a front row center action view of the street so there is always something happening. the menu is eclectic and fun so there are no readily digestible choices but lots of things to make you think and explore . Enjoy!

I'll pass. Baco is terribly overrated despite the overflowing positive reviews I've read about this restaurant.

    So what went wrong????

The sandwiches; Shrimp sandwich, the original sandwich, and the Oxtail sandwich.

The shrimp sandwich was underwhelming. The fact that it was shrimp make no difference whatsoever. The fried batter completely overpowers the sweetness of the shrimp and you only taste fried batter. The server could have told me it was fried cauliflower and I would have believed her. This sandwich is a poor example of how to bring delicate and unique flavors together to make something cohesive.

The Original sandwich: It's your standard pulled beef/pork sandwich in a fancy bun. Nothing about the meat or flavoring made this sandwich standout.

The Oxtail sandwich: This was the only good thing we had for our dinner. The oxtail really shined with it's delicate meat and light but rich flavor. It was pretty fantastic and the showcase was really about the meat and you could really taste that. Now, why couldn't the other sandwich's be this amazing????

The Bacon & Egg Coca was the worst pizza I've ever had in downtown. The bacon was so overpowering none of us wanted to eat it. There was absolutely no balance in this dish. Terrible.

The last offensive dish of the night was bazole soup. This is also the worst soup I've ever ate sadly anywhere in Los Angeles. WAY too salty, over spiced, nothing savory to make me want to keep eating it. Each bite was a smack in the face in the worst possible way. This dish really is an embarrassment to the restaurant.

We left the restaurant wondering why the place was so popular. It's an expensive joint for the low quality food you are served. We will not be back. If you must go here order the Oxtail sandwich with confidence.

Amazing! I've now been here three times and the food is consistently impressive. The wait staff is very friendly and always willing to give you a recommendation without being pretentious which I guess is easy to do when everything on the menu is good. I highly recommend the cauliflower plate to start and the Nutella desert at the end. Will be returning!
