I successfully submitted and paid for an order online via the official Subway app. When I arrived at this location to pick up, I was greeted by Emily. But then told me she did not see an order in the system. She asked if I was sure I made the order for this location, and I showed her my confirmation email which showed that I did. She then admitted to me that "this was not the first time this has happened"...and that it has occurred "like 3 or 4 times" before with online orders. She and her co-worker then advised me to "call my bank and cancel the transaction". I then asked if she could simply make my sandwich and "comp" the cost since I already paid, and she said she could not. I asked for her manager, and she told me she WAS the current manager, but that I could call the manager over her. So I went outside and I called the district manager with the number Emily gave me. I was unprofessionally greeted with an uncertain hello. I explained my situation, and she told me "sometimes that happens with the internet orders" and that she would call me back. Within 5 minutes, she called back to verify my info, and said she would fax my order to Emily. I told her how inconvenient this whole situation has been, and asked if she could do more for me to compensate me for the inconvenience, bad experience and wasted time, and she replied that she could not. I went back inside and eventually got my sandwich.
So, in the end, TWO Subway MANAGERS admitted that this was not the first incident with online orders. I am left to assume that Subway has IGNORED this issue and clearly does NOT care about customer service, as the app still ALLOWS for orders to be sent to that location and they are fully aware customers will continue to be inconvenienced. Interestingly enough, this incident caused me to recall that this SAME ISSUE happened to ME before at this SAME store at least over a YEAR ago. Also, either your managers are not empowered to compensate the customer, or I was lied to by your district manager when she told me nothing more could be done beside getting me my sandwich late after this troubling ordeal. Either way, the customer loses. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.
