  Im from Memphis, VERY hard to please as far as soulfood, but this place is amazing!!! Everything is good!!! (Fried chicken my personal favorite) I just suggest you call and order at least 30 min before.

  Cute hipster place. Their berry lemonade was delicious. A cup's worth of lemonade for $5. Pretty pricy.
  
  Delicious sandwiches and french fries. Fourstar available. Everyone orders salads and the next time I come back, salad it is!

  Legit. The type of place that makes "hole in the wall" a true gem of a compliment.
  
  Mom's has been around in this same spot for almost 30 years and still going strong. Walking in, you see the menu along the right, and a long sheet of celebrity autographed photos on the left.
  
  Unassuming and simple decor with just enough seating for 15 sit down customers, Mom knows where to put her time and money: into the food. And goodness sweet sassy molassy, good fried chicken it is.
  
  Made to order and never under a heat lamp, there will generally be a bit of a wait - but totally worth it. This, this is what real Southern home cooking is all about: A lightly crisped touch of warm, comforting, soul.
  
  And c'mon, if it has Mr. T's endorsement, who are you to say he's wrong and you're right? (Hint: if you disagree with him, he pities you)

  The best affordable bbq in lA. I've tried many bbq joints in the city and sadly many are pretty bland or bad. Mom's bbq is always consistent and good. Their rib tips are the best. Their chicken is a bit bland though. Their sides are very good. I wish they were open on Sundays when I prefer to eat bbq & soul food.
  
  I took a star away because the last 3 times I've gone their out of certain foods. And with a few hours left til close, you think someone who notice they're low on certain items and start fresh, but no. Still good food though.
