  Best chili burgers, chili dogs, chili fry's, chili tamales. If you like chili (and who doesn't) this is the place. Original Tommy's is a stand-up place (no tables). Well worth the visit. The other Tommy's locations are also good (and have chairs).

  In the '60s & '70s, when I was a kid working downtown, this — the only Tommy's in the world, at the time — was the place we hurried to on our short lunch breaks for a quick, satisfying, affordable meal. There was just one window at the edge of the small parking lot, but they put out a lot of burgers and dogs that way. We'd tell the cashier how many drinks we were having then grab it/them from the chest refrigerator on the honor system. It was just the way of things then feels so nostalgic now. Things have been expanded and upgraded over the years, but there's still the bare-bones feel to the place at this location.
